Many kinds of mani

I love painting. I used to do it as a kid, and now that I’m an adult (?) I still like to make use of the 10 small pieces of canvas which are (quite literally) at my fingertips.

I haven’t done this in a nail art tutorial form, but below are some of the styles that I think came off quite well. Let me know in the comments if you’d like to see a step-by-step guide on any of them, and I’ll happily create one for you.

1. Easy stripes

Base: Revlon Colorstay in Cool Beige (41)
2nd coat: Revlon Colorstay in Wild Strawberry (070)
3rd coat: Rimmel Lasting Finish in Black Cherries (193)

2. Snake skin

Base: Essie magnetic polish in Snake, Rattle & Roll (234)
The magnetic cap does the work for you – you just apply 2 coats of the nail polish and then hold the magnet close over the nails to create the pattern.

3. Bling ring finger

Base: Flormar Matte nail enamel in Violet (210)
Ring finger: Sally Hansen Double Duty base coat and Flormar Glitter (221)

4. Delicate ombre

Base: any nude/pearly nail varnish
Ring finger: same as base, Rimmel Lasting Finish in Orange your life (200) for the middle, any coral nail varnish for the top of the nail, flower stickers

5. White stripes

Base: any black nail varnish
2nd coat: any white nail varnish
Relatively straight-forward style – you just need a thinner brush to layer the white stripes starting from the outer side towards the middle of the nail

6. Forget-me-nots

7. Strawberry nails forever

9. Be my Valentine!

Ombre ends: Revlon Colorstay in Wild Strawberry (070)
Thumb: Rimmel Lasting Finish in Marshmallow Heaven (702) for the heart, and the above Wild Strawberry for the ombre effect

I admit, for the next two you might need to have a patient friend at hand.
